Highlights and Special Thanks

#1 we want to thank all of our loyal customers in Richmond and all over the world. 

We would not be here without you.  

We recognize that and appreciate it every day.

2018 was particularly special as we celebrate 40 years.  Here are some of the highlights of 2018 and some of the people who helped us along.

Most particularly I want to thank the booksellers of Fountain.  For many of us, it was a tough year personally.  We powered through it.

Best crew a bookstore ever had.  I am eternally grateful.


Our Twitter Followers: Wow.  Just.  Wow.  

Normally I would advise against having a couple of glasses of wine and getting angry/sad on Twitter, but sometimes it works out.  

So much support from all over the globe: our beloved local WTVR station (we really do love you guys), The Guardian (twice), Business Insider, some Canadian BBC radio show I never got to hear, some very nice people in Italy.  So much love!  Thank you!!!

Maggie Stiefvater ...always

And I know she would love being covered with pink hearts, so I did this just for her.  

Her books are amazing and we are endlessly grateful to be of service to her and her phenomenal fans.  

Gwyn and the Crew at Matchbook Marketing ... for making us look good.  

Our paper newsletter production, walking us through new logo, general design advice, and a revamped website.  

We dreamed it, Gwyn and her team did the heavy lifting so we could keep on dreaming more.

The RTD ...thanks for all the coverage this year and special thanks for printing the letter of the day from Chip Jones, to whom we also wish to express our sincerest gratitude for his impassioned words.  Honestly.  There are not enough thanks for this one.

Shelf Awareness (for readers and the book trade)... thanks for getting news about us out there to the book industry and for helping us keep our customers up on new books when we run out of time to tell them.   So.  Many.  Books.  

Beloved SIBA...  Back on the SIBA Board again and honored to serve the organization that does so much to help Southern booksellers.  The organization and the staff are amazing.  Thank you especially to Executive Director Wanda Jewell and her staff Linda-Marie and Nicki.  I don't know where we'd be without you.  

The ABA... from advocacy on Capitol Hill to our website to all of the education we attend that is organized by ABA (we go to a LOT of bookseller school both ABA and SIBA), and so much more...there are never, ever enough thank yous for the ABA.  

And we knew we'd forget someone!!!  Here are a few mentions:
