Local History Night!

These brand-new books shed light on areas of and vital persons in Richmond history that have been underrepresented in previous works.  

Kristin T. Thrower Stowe lives in the Richmond area. She has a master’s degree in history and in teaching from Virginia Commonwealth University and a school librarian postgraduate certificate from Longwood University. Her first book, Miller & Rhoads Legendary Santa Claus (2001), tells the history of the real Santa that visited Richmond every Christmas. Kristin enjoys traveling; she has visited thirty-nine states and traveled overseas.

Guy Terrell coauthored A Short History of Richmond (The History Press) and The Fourth Branch of Government: We the People with Jack Trammell. He has also published poems in Tar River Poetry Review and Streetlight. He is a past president and treasurer of the Poetry Society of Virginia.
