Guns, Safety, and Healing with Tom Kapsidelis

Journalist and author Tom Kapsidelis will be here at an informal meet-and-greet to sign copies of this very important book.  Tom is a great friend of the store and we are proud to be bringing you this event!

Tom Kapsidelis has been a journalist in Virginia since 1981, first with United Press International and then 28 years with the Richmond Times-Dispatch, where he was assigned to Blacksburg on April 16, 2007, to edit the newspaper's coverage of the Virginia Tech shootings. He played a role in the editing or reporting of most of the major news events in Virginia during his career. He left the newspaper in 2016 when he was awarded a one-year fellowship at the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities, now known as Virginia Humanities, to complete work on his book, After Virginia Tech: Guns, Safety, and Healing in the Era of Mass Shootings, published in April by The University of Virginia Press. Tom and his wife Karin live in Richmond's North Side and have two grown children, Katherine and Alex.
