Join the Friends of the Chesterfield County Public Library on May 20 as they celebrate their 50th anniversary with a virtual visit from Nick Bruel, author of the Bad Kitty series.
Bruel, a New York Times bestselling author and illustrator of both picture and chapter books, will highlight his soon-to-be-published Bedtime for Bad Kitty, a picture book for young children or anyone who has resisted bedtime with the same determined ferocity as Bad Kitty. Readers familiar with Bad Kitty will know her as the cantankerous cat famous for her goofy, laugh-out-loud antics.
To fit the bedtime theme, kids of all ages are welcome to wear your pajamas!
The event is free and open to everyone.
To purchase a copy of Bedtime for Bad Kitty, visit this link or contact Fountain Bookstore at email@example.com. A portion of the proceeds from sales will be donated to the Friends' picture book fundraiser!
In continued celebration of their 50th anniversary, the Friends have been hosting a picture book fundraiser. The Friends, with the public’s support, are raising $20,000 to purchase new picture books for the Chesterfield County Public Library’s collection. This program is brought to you by the Friends of Chesterfield County Public Library in collaboration with the Chesterfield County Public Library, Macmillan Publishers, and Fountain Bookstore (Richmond, VA).

It's bedtime in the Bad Kitty household but Kitty does not want to go to bed.
She doesn't want to brush her teeth.
She doesn't want to put on her bunny pajamas.
She doesn't want to use the potty.
What she wants to do is:
SING SING SING SING SING
PLAY PLAY PLAY PLAY PLAY
RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN
Finally, when she runs out of ideas (and energy) and is promised a perfect bedtime story, Kitty gives in...but can she stay awake for the ending?
This new picture book in the bestselling series is sure to be a bedtime favorite, complete with a paper doll activity kit!
