Donna Andrews was born in Yorktown, Virginia, the setting of Murder with Peacocks (Minotaur Books, 2000) – winner of the Malice Domestic/St. Martins Press Best First Traditional Mystery contest – and Revenge of the Wrought Iron Flamingos (Minotaur Books, 2002), two works in the Meg Lanslow murder mystery series. Meredith Cole directed feature films and wrote screenplays before writing mysteries. She won the St. Martin’s/Malice Domestic Best First Traditional Mystery competition, and her first book, Posed for Murder, was published by St. Martin’s Minotaur in February 2009. Her short stories have appeared in Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine and the anthology Murder New York Style. Meredith's second book, tentatively called Dead in the Water, will be out in 2010. Andy Straka is the author of the Shamus Award-winning and Anthony and Agatha Award-nominated Frank Pavlicek novels. Emyl Jenkins, James River Writers' secretary, wrote a baker's dozen non-fiction books and was a contributing editor to Art & Antiques and Southern Accents before she turned to fiction. Her first book in the Sterling Glass Mystery Series, Stealing with Style, was a finalist in the Library of Virginia's People's Choice, and has been translated into Lithuanian, Japanese, and Korean. Her second mystery, The Big Steal, was released this summer to great reviews nationwide.
