Please join us in welcoming Colorado novelist David Hicks and local favorite poet/dancer/lots-of-other-impressive-things Cheryl Pallant for an evening of discussion on the practical art of being a writer.
Topics will include what a writer's day looks like, the importance of the writer's support system, excercises to sharpen one's craft, and more.
David is the author of the debut novel, White Plains, which will be published by Conundrum Press in 2017. Excerpts from the novel have been published as short stories in Glimmer Train, Colorado Review, Specs, Saranac Review, and South Dakota Review, along with other stellar journals.
David lives in Colorado with his wife, the poet Cynthia Kolanowski, with children Stephen and Caitlin nearby, and is a professor at Regis University, where he also co-directs the Mile-High MFA program.
Cheryl Pallant is an award winning writer, poet, dancer, energy healer, and professor. She teaches writing and dance at University of Richmond and leads workshops across the U.S. and abroad. Her most recent book is the poetry collection, Her Body Listening. Her memoir, Ginseng Tango, about living in S. Korea, will be out late 2017.
